MitoQ K2 UPDATE

Thanks for your interest in, or registration for, the K2/K1/NBC cycle events.

In case news has not already reached you, we are sad to tell you that we have lost K2 co-founder Keith Stephenson, who died suddenly while riding his bike on December 19th. Keith was widely loved and respected and worked tirelessly for the community, creating opportunities for others to share his love of the outdoors. He will be enormously missed.

Unfortunately, the high level of uncertainty around public gatherings has severely impacted on K1/2 entries, which are currently down by some 70%. The potential for an outbreak of Omicron in the country and a move to the ‘red light’ status would make the race impossible, and so we have made the difficult decision to postpone this year’s K2. While we would do everything we could to provide a safe opportunity to experience one of New Zealand’s greatest bike rides, we cannot as a charity sustain the additional losses a last minute cancellation would incur.

We appreciate that this will be hugely disappointing for those who have trained and entered. With this in mind, we will refund in full or roll over your entries to the following year, when with luck things will be a little more settled. If you require a refund, please email andy@arcevents.co.nz, otherwise we will automatically roll over your entry.

Meanwhile we wish you all the best for 2022.
